19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid season, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former trainer his previous coach.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after March of 2023.
Success also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's defensive strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the last five games to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.
He saved four early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, he secured the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
